An Enchanted Birthday

This post will wrap up our time spent in Illinois this summer. We were there to celebrate both Bob and Mallory's birthdays. They were born exactly 1 year apart. Bob's birthday is July 14th and Mallory's is the 15th. Bob is one year younger.

When Bob was younger he worked at a local fun place called The Enchanted Castle. It is owned and operated by a family member of his. So we thought it would be fun to take the boys their to celebrate Flobby & Auntie's Birthdays. And since Bob knows people there, we go the royal hook up- tons of free tokens!

It's kind of like Chuck-e-Cheese, but they also have a few rides and mini golf and laser tag. We stuck to the games and play land for the day.
The first game.

It was fun to try some new games that Chuck-e-Cheese doesn't have.

And of course, Skee Ball is always fun!

Nolan got lucky and won 100 tickets on this game! He was SO excited! They just kept coming and coming and coming!

These two were gaming buddies!

And Brooksie liked some little rides!

We just put all of their tickets together and when it came time to munch them, we just made sure they had about even amounts.

Then the boys picked out some prizes. Nolan went straight for the stuffed frog. Heath got more for his money and chose a flying fist toy, a gummy hamburger, and some candies. And Brooks got a little baseball hackie sack.

Then we played in the playland for awhile.
Can you spot Heath up in the tree?

Nolan on the bridge. And I didn't get a picture of it, but Uncle Flobby was quite the sport and ran through the tunnels with Brooksie. What a good guy!

Thank you Flobby for such a fun day! We LOVE you!

That night we came home for some amazing Lou's for dinner and gifts and cake for the birthday couple!
Watching Auntie open gifts in her last family made birthday chair.
My Mom gave each of us couples our own Birthday Chairs as engagement gifts. So next year Laura and Bob get to join in on the Johnson family tradition. I'm sure they are THRILLED!

Having a gift registry sure makes it easy to by someone a birthday gift.
Bath sheets from my Mom & Dad. And we got them a few other things from their registries, including…SPIN A SHOT! I wonder who registered for that one?!

Lauren and Jennifer came over to celebrate too! The boys had fun playing with them as always.
During the day we worked on a few fun things to make Mallory's day special…Starbucks, a balloon, and a cake! My Mom baked it and I decorated it!

Happy Birthday you two! What a great year it will be!
