Memorial Day Weekend 2014

Our pool opened Memorial Day weekend, and despite stormy weather, the boys knew it would be opening, so I knew we would be there. Here is a photo of their initial dip into the pool this season.
The water was actually warm but the air outside was in the 60's. So as long as the boys kept their bodies under the water, they were happy!

We were there a lot that weekend. And can you tell that we were some of the few that braved the rain, and thunder storms. We've already been lightening'd out a few times this season, due to our very rare and rainy start to summer.

PHOTO BOMB!

This is where you can find me, basically any day this summer. There actually have been very few days that we haven't popped by for an hour or so. Most days I'm on my own with all three, which is actually becoming more manageable. I'm in the water the whole time, not exactly sunbathing and reading a book, but it's been so fun. It helps that there are lifeguards, just makes me feel so much safer when all 3 aren't always in my sight.

We tried this little swim vest with Brooks, but he actually prefers the wings, so we returned it.

All 3 LOVE their masks this summer.

It is always nice to have an extra day added to our weekend. You just feel like you can play a little harder and stay up a little later.
We sure wore these kids out!

Heath and Brooks got to go to Grandma Inge's pool with Oma and the crew one day (I can't remember when it was, just know it was around Memorial Day!) while Nolan was still in school.
They had a blast there too!

We also joined Costco that weekend. It was about time. With three hungry, growing boys who are eating us out of house and home, it became a necessity to start stocking up on some stuff. The boys LOVE it there! Samples and churros are just a couple of the reasons why! Ha!

We finally felt like we were safe enough to plant some flowers, hoping for no more May snowstorms! Our front yard is really coming along. And I think we have escaped most of the hail storms we've had around us lately as well.

On Memorial Day we headed up to the cabin as usual.
The boys just love the freedom they have up there.

The Krauths joined us for the day as well. See that pop of pink in the sandbox…that's Ella! She's a tough girly to put up with all those boys!

They run, eat, and get dirty! Every boys' dream!

We took a hike that afternoon. We started out all together, but then Nolan joined the Syers' fam on a little bit of a longer path and we took the younger kiddos around the normal circle hike.

Here we are branching off. Can you spot them off in the distance?

Cohen and Heath had fun with stick guns.

And we did a little rock climbing.

It was a beautiful day!

After the hike, we headed home for a yummy cook out.

And we celebrated Payton's 10th Birthday too!

It rained a bit throughout the day. Brooks couldn't resist the puddles!

It was a busy weekend, full of fresh air!
The BIG boys were tired out and fell asleep on the way home.
This little stinker didn't!

We packed a lot into one weekend! But it sure was fun! A wonderful way to start our summer! Just one week of school was in our way...
