Easter was a wonderful day full of worship, sun, laughs, candy, bow ties, and cute boys!!! It was so nice having my Mom here to celebrate with us.
The boys woke up extra early super excited to look for their Easter baskets. It was fun to have new spots for the Easter Bunny to hide them in our new house. I was having technical difficulties while I was trying to film them hunting! Sadly, I don't have any videos to share of their hunt. But Brooks found his first, in his toy box. He got a new swim suit, sippy cups, and an Easter book. Then Nolan found his in the office, behind his Batcave. He got new sunglasses, a Splinter action figure {from TMNT}, some bubble gum eggs and jelly beans. Heath found his last. It was in his favorite place...the bathroom! He sure seems to be in there a lot! It was in the vanity drawer. He got a DVD, sunglasses, and some candy too. The Easter Bunny even left Grandma an Easter Basket. Hers was hidden in the front entry way underneath the bench. She got an Easter jello mold and some candy! That Easter Bunny was so good to us!
After finding their baskets, we ate breakfast and the boys watched a Veggie Tales Easter Carole. Then it was time to get all spiffed up for church. They looked so handsome in their fancy bow ties! I bought Heath's and my Mom made Nolan's. Dapper dudes!
We had a wonderful church service praising our risen Savior and the boys had a fun morning at Sunday school. After church it was time to head over to Oma & Opa's house for one of our favorite family traditions...the Easter Egg hunt!
These three boys couldn't get enough of Grandma's jello eggs! Yum!
The weather was gorgeous...in the 60's! All the kids had a great time running around, playing, and eating in the yard.
We had a delicious brunch!
Uncle Wes and Brooks Wesley
Bunny Ears!
Then it was FINALLY {as the kids were thinking} time for the hunt! They had to wait very patiently and spent a lot of time scopin' out some hiding places before it began.
Oma soaked in some rays as she called the colors!
Nolan showed her each egg he found.
Heath was Mr. Independent, running off to find his eggs all on his own! He didn't want any help! And he did such a great job.
Nolan, too, is an expert egg finder! He loved finding the perfect egg in the perfect spot each round!
We always have a big crew. Oma & Opa hid over 300 eggs that morning!
"Hi! Over here! Look! A green egg!" Heath was so proud when he found this sneaky little egg up high!
Brooks is teething bad and has been a little off, fighting anything and everything, for the past few weeks. So he hasn't been as smiley as usual, but, he too had a fun day!
After finding all of their eggs, the boys worked together to crack them open. They chatted about all the goodies inside and which ones were their favorites!
We ended up with 2 missing green eggs! Everyone got in on the search for them. After a long while, Mark ended up finding them both!
A family picture at the end of the day. We should have taken it earlier, because the boys were totally over pictures by this point, but I still think it turned out pretty good.
And we got a pretty cute one of the boys with Grandma too!
Two bow tie boys chillin' after a busy day!
And we always snap a picture of the girls on Easter too!
I requested standing up hill because I always look SO short next to these long and lean ladies!
Thank you Oma & Opa for a wonderful day! We LOVE this holiday and your family's fun traditions! The boys will always have such great memories of Easter's in your back yard, just like Mark has from Oma Bosch's.
We ended the day with family movie time: Wreck it Ralph! Heath got it in his Easter basket. I had taken the boys to see it a few months back, but Grandma and Daddy hadn't seen it yet. It is super clever and creative. Definitely one of my favorite newer kids movies!
This was our last day with Grandma, she left the next morning after Nolan got out of school. We had such a great week with her. The time always goes by WAY too fast! Thank you Mom for all that you do for us. For cooking, cleaning, changing blow outs, dealing with meltdowns, wiping tears, doing puzzles, folding laundry, playing catch, answering questions, reading books, picking up groceries, and so much more! We love you so much and will keep hoping and praying for the day you move here!
We sang this beautiful Darlene Zschech song at church on Sunday morning and I just love the lyrics. I'll leave you with this perfect Easter Message.
"Every high thing must come down
Every stronghold shall be broken
You wear the Victor's crown
You overcome, you overcome.
At the cross the work was finished
You were buried in the ground
But the grave could not contain You
For You wear the Victor's crown.
Hallelujah
You have overcome, you have overcome
Hallelujah
Jesus You have overcome the world."
