Pirate Baseball!

Nolan had a great season of summer baseball. This was his first time playing for Parker Rec Center.
He was very excited to find out that he was on the Parker Pirates! #6
AAARRRGH!
The season got off to a rough start with LOTS of rain and many cancelled practices and games. But doesn't he look so cute in his practice gear!

The league was coach pitch. And this was also the first season that Nolan has played with real outs.

He learned so much this year and strengthened his skills, playing with more "real baseball rules".

His games were Friday nights and Saturday mornings- 1 or 2 games a week with a practice every Wednesday. We really enjoyed cheering him on from the bleachers!

Nolan learned to play catcher for the first time.

Mark did not want to coach back to back sport seasons, so we just signed Nolan up for any random team. We really lucked out with a great coach! Knowledgable yet fun! But it didn't take long for Mark to be itching to be out on the field helping out. He often coached 3rd base and pitched some too.

Making plays on 3rd!

The night games under the lights were my favorite!

Ready Position!

Leading off!

Running to second!

Back in catcher's gear!

Cheering on his team out on the field!

Hanging out during practice one week.

We were happy to have Oma & Opa join us for some games too!

We played one game at Bar CCC field. It was a nice field!

The rest of our games were played at Salisbury Park.

Relay, Relay, Relay!

Over the season, Nolan's fielding skills continued to improve. He worked on his accuracy in throwing, knowing where to throw the ball, and catching grounders and pop ups.

And his hitting and stance improved as well. He started off the season hitting 2 for 2 or 3 for 3 most games! When we came back from vacation, he hit a little batting slump. But he was making contact, swinging stronger, and hitting harder. And still doing great!
We were so proud of his work ethic and great attitude! He was just having so much fun and loving the game! He loves being a part of a team!

Heath started his baseball season at the end of Nolan's. Don't these two look so cute together in their uniforms!?

Go Pirates!

It was a fun season and he already can't wait to play again in the Spring!
