My fabulous hubby turned thirty two on Friday! Here are some photos of how we celebrated his special day!
He woke up to find his "Super Dad" birthday chair waiting for him!
He sure is our super hero! Mark had to work that day, but just a half day. So he headed out to work to be greeted by a Broncos decorated cube and a yummy coffee treat from his co-worker friends.
We met up with him at work to introduce his friends there to Brooks and to take him out to lunch. We picked up his favorite Philly cheesesteaks and brought them to McDonalds to eat them. That way the boys could get something they liked and they could play and we could enjoy eating and talking together!
After lunch we came home and put the boys down for a nap. We got to relax in the middle of the afternoon together and watched some shows that we needed to catch up on. I really cant keep myself awake at night right now. So we are way behind on our very important reality t.v. watching! Ha!
When the boys woke up we had a blast singing and dancing to Nolan's Lion King Soundtrack!
Nolan rockin' the mic! He really has a great voice. We can't wait for him to be old enough to sing in the choir someday. He has great pitch already!
After our family dance party it was time to give Daddy his presents...Nolan was laughing because he insisted on writing "Mark" on his Daddy's card instead of "Daddy"! Silly boy! He thought he was so funny!
Mark got a watch from me, a sweatshirt from Nolan, undershirts from Heath, and his favorite hot sauce from Brooks!
Look at that face! He can't get enough cookies!
It is virtually impossible to get a good picture of all three of them looking at the camera AND smiling! But I think we got close!
After presents we helped Daddy blow out his birthday candles! Look at Nolan's serious blowing face! Ha! I just baked brownies because he would have a birthday cake at his parents house later in the weekend.
Sweet tooth over here enjoyed them as well! Nolan didn't want a cookie or brownie...he is definitely not as into sweets as his little brother! He said, "No thanks, I just want to be healthy!"
Brooks wore his "I Love Daddy" onesie for Mark's day. He got to stay up with us that night while we ate sushi and watched a movie. We love our snuggle time with this little one once the bigger boys are in bed at night.
The next day Mark and I got to go out to lunch and to a movie! His mom watched the boys and we had a stress free afternoon at The Olive Garden. And we saw the movie, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". It was nice to be able to talk and catch up without someone needing something from us! The movie was VERY graphic, but a good story line. Thanks Mom for watching the boys for us!!!
On Sunday, we celebrated Mark's birthday with his family. We had a fun evening hanging out and eating a delicious Mark requested dinner: flank steak and asparagus! Yum!
Cohen held Brooks for the first time.
He also requested a "moist chocolate cake". (Sidenote: Nolan was definitely not on his health kick this night! He had vanilla ice cream first, then requested a piece of the chocolate cake, and then he finished off the night with a couple of dates. Weird combo, I know. But this boy sure loves eating his dates at Oma's house!)
We had a very nice weekend celebrating this man we love so much!
I have always loved Mark. Pretty much from the first moment I met him about 12 years ago. But it is really crazy just how much I have felt that love grow in just the one month we have been a family of 5. It's just a good feeling knowing that this is our forever family. And it is pretty amazing watching Mark step up as a father and husband to provide for and love us! I know that I COULD NOT do this job without him. His selflessness and humor make it manageable and fun! Thanks Mark for being simply the best. We love you.
