Christmas Eve & Christmas Day

As always we spent Christmas Eve relaxing around my parents house, we ate a delicious dinner, opened presents with my Grandma Verna, and went to church.

The usual...except for the fact that once again the boys were visited by an atrocious bought of diarea. Yes, that's nasty, and it stinks, but what made it even worse was that they once again decided to get poopy in a not so fabulous location. First the airport, now in the Christmas Eve church service! But at least even with this gross bug they were still happy and able to enjoy all of the Christmas fun! It was a pretty eventful evening, 4 poops and a shattered frame in the Narthex of church! Way to go sister!

Our Christmas Eve feast- pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes, jello, rolls, and more! Yum! We ate way too much on this vacation but couldn't stop ourselves!

Grandpa and Heath both sported fancy sweater vests for the occasion!

For as long as I can remember we have always taken a picture with my Grandma and all her gifts on Christmas Eve! It's funny because she always gets the same things: earrings, a large squared calendar, clothes, and of course Primo perfume! So pretty much we look older every year but the presents look the same!

Christmas Morning...I really didn't take too many pictues...it's a lot of work helping 2 kids open a lot of gifts, I guess the camera really wasn't a priority!

Nolan's serious face as he digs in his stocking for more goodies!

And look what Heath got in his stocking...perfect!

This is Griffin, my sister's cat. He wanted to be part of the present action too! Nolan has always loved animals. Heath used to be pretty unsure of them. Until this trip! He absolutely became obsessed with my family's 2 cats: Tuxedo and Griffin. He growled and roared at them everytime he saw them. He tried to catch them and patted them and even when they arched their back, hissed, and flashed their teeth at him, he would smile, put his face right in theirs and growl right back!

Nolan has loved super heros ever since this summer when Uncle T. introduced Nolan to the old t.v. show Batman. Every time we go to Grandma & Grandpa's house he always plays with Tyler's old Batmobile. So for Christmas Uncle T. got Nolan his very own Batmobile, or as Nolan calls it, his "Bat-o-beel". Needless to say he thinks it's pretty cool! Now he wants a Robin and Joker to go with it!

Here's Heath playing with Tyler's old Batman! Of course he has to get into everything Nolan likes!

After opening presents we went to my cousins house for appetizers, desserts, drinks, and the White Elephant game. It was great catching up with the Maleske clan! "We put the FUN in Dis-fun-ctional!" Mark is so glad he's a "non blood"!

We then wrapped up a busy day back at my parent's house relaxing and playing games!

Before bed time cuddles.
The boys LOVE their Auntie! She is such a good time and is great at spoiling too!

And Heath loved Great Grandma Verna as well! I just love the way he is looking at her in this picture! So sweet!

I think V.E.E.H.M.M.S thought Heath was pretty special too!

We had a wonderful couple of days surrounded by family and reflecting on the real reason for the season! Having sons I can not even begin to comprehend the extent of God's love for us. He sent his one and only son to this earth to die to save us! Pretty incredible!

O.k. that's all for tonight. Tomorrow- Heath's belated Chicago Birthday party! Fun stuff!

Looks like your Christmas was as crazy and hectic as ours! I enjoy reading/hearing about your family's traditions. It's neat to see how close your family is!
