Tyler and Laura got married on Saturday, November 22, 2014! The day was so much fun from the second we woke up to the second our heads hit our pillows that night!
We all woke up that morning and headed down to breakfast to eat and celebrate Heath's 5th Birthday! It was so special that he would share this important day with his namesake. (more birthday posts to come) We gave Heath presents and hugs, stopped at Starbucks, and then headed downtown to the Skirvin Hotel to meet up with the BRIDE! We had a beautiful room there to get our hair and makeup done in, to have lunch in, and to spend the day together in before we headed to the church. Just down the hallway they were preparing the reception rooms for the party later that night!
This was a view from the top floor of the hotel! Too bad the sky was so cloudy and it rained off and on, but really, it didn't put a damper on anything!
Everything was so beautiful!
Vintage and classy and romantic!
The flowers were amazing!
And the linens were so pretty!
It was fun to watch all of the preparations being made throughout the day.
When everyone was all gussied up we hopped on a party van to head to the church!
Once at the church we got dressed and ready for pictures!
Tyler and Laura had their "first look" and then we did Bridal Party and Family Pictures before the wedding! It was nice to get the pictures out of the way so that after the ceremony we could just celebrate.
Everyone was so happy to see each other in their fancy clothes!
The Original Johnson 5!
We love our brother so much and are beyond happy for him!
The boys had hung out at the hotel for the day and tried to rest up for a big night ahead. Mark did a great job of getting them ready and into their adorable tuxes! They looked great!
Mr. 5 looked awesome and so proud of his dapper clothing!
These two are so happy to have their family (mostly) complete! Just some more grand babies to add to the mix in the future!
Love this picture of me and my parents.
Hanging out with Brooksie in-between pictures.
Grandpa and Brooks playing catch with his top hat of course.
He doesn't slow down or cooperate for pictures so we have to snag them when we can!
Nolan and Heath did such a great job posing for pictures. They REALLY loved their outfits and you could tell they felt so special in them!
I love this picture with my biggest boy!
The chapel was just so charming.
The boys made good friends with Jude, Laura's nephew. He is 8 and very sweet.
Mark looked great in his new suit as well. Mark and Bob were ushers, along with Laura's two brothers.
So happy to have Laura as my new sister! She's a fun one for sure!
After pictures we headed back to the Bride's Room for a bit as guests began to arrive. Mark and Bob were busy passing out programs and escorting guests into the pews.
The boys snacked and watched videos with Jude while they waited.
Then it was finally time to seal the deal!
Laura was such a stunning bride.
The ceremony was short and sweet! I tried my hardest not to cry but I was fighting back tears. And soon enough, they were pronounced…
Dr. and Mrs. Tyler Johnson!
Woo hoo!
Time to party!
And take selfies!
We hopped back on the 'Benz and headed back downtown to the Skirvin.
Champs and a little Streamwood High School Fight Song and we were there!
These two were on kid duty until they got to the hotel. Then they could unwind with a little Fireball!
Checkin' out the city lights!
Tyler and his Groomsmen toasting to his future! Tyler's Best Man, Eric, has been a friend since high school. The other guys are his friends from Northwestern. They all currently live in different states. So for groomsmen gifts he gave them all cuff links made from Quarters representing the states they now reside. They were pretty shnazzy. Wish I would have taken a pic. A creative idea, perfect for these American history and political science buffs.
Welcoming Mrs. Johnson into our mix! And along with Laura, we also welcome her fur-baby, Ellie! Mark came up with the wedding hashtag we used for the weekend: #elliesgaininadad
Laura loves her "mature Vizsla" so much and now, so does Tyler!
I have a million and one pictures from this amazing day. So I'll break it up into two posts. Next up…
the reception! Woot woot!
