In April I had my annual Women's Group Overnight. We usually stay at the Embassy Suites Downtown, but this year we had trouble getting a reservation for the only weekend that all 7 of us could make work, so we ended up getting our same great deal, but at an Embassy Suites a little closer to home. It doesn't really matter where we are- just that we're together. We all met up there on Saturday afternoon.
We headed to our room to settle in, chat, celebrate Rachel's birthday, and eat Sarah's delicious salted caramel cupcakes! They were amazing! Gourmet Girl to Go- check her out on the web!
Then we headed down to the lobby for probably our favorite part of these weekends…the complimentary Happy Hour!
We always find some comfy couches.
And settle in to enjoy our munchies and drinks!
Later that evening we got dolled up and headed out for dinner at Benihana!
This year we were celebrating 12 years together! (I joined a little bit later their first year after I had moved here.) So thankful to have connected with these ladies. We have been through so much together and I am honored to walk along side them as we navigate life as Women of God.
Ready to eat!
Benihana is always a fun experience!
And our chef was such a nice guy.
We were convinced we were his favorite table of the night- 7 pretty ladies, a couple of glasses of wine in- kid and husband free…we were a fun group!
Leather and Feathers!
Heather and I are teacher buddies and each have 3 kiddos- all born right around the same time as each others'.
After dinner we walked back to hotel and spent some time relaxing in the hot tub. Then we chatted until 1 a.m. and were excited to have some uninterrupted, peaceful sleep! We stayed in bed until almost 9! It was heavenly!
Then we packed up and headed down to have the delicious breakfast that the Embassy Suites always serves! Made to order omelets, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, you name it…they have it! And it's always so good! We sit and eat and chat and chat and eat and enjoy our few last hours of girly time!
It's just a quick 24 hour getaway, but it's just what's needed to reconnect and recharge and celebrate the sweet friendships God has given us! Love these girls!
