Halloween

As always, we had a ton of HALLOWEEN fun!

Heath's school does not celebrate Halloween during the school day. But they did some fun pumpkin art projects and even baked pumpkin bread.
They gave it to us in this cute little package!

The church at his preschool had a fun Fall Festival the Friday night before Halloween. So he got to wear his costume a week early. Mark took him out for a night of games and treats and fun!
Heath was Dinger…the Rockies mascot! Nolan originally came up with the idea to be mascots. After some hunting online and a little bit of creativity I think we pulled it off. And they both LOVED their costumes!

On the same night, Nolan's school also had a Fall Fest. But his was a sports theme, not a Halloween theme. So Brooks and I went with Nolan to Mammoth Heights while Mark and Heath were at Southeast Christian.
Look who showed up while we were waiting in the Balloon line! Brooks freaked out! He was traumatized, but Nolan and I actually thought it was so funny that he was so scared!

30 minutes later we finally got our balloons!

An orange sword for Nolan.

The cake walk
He played twice but didn't win! Bummer!

Brooks got a blue sword and had fun watching the cake walk!

Then it was time for snacks- hotdogs, chips, orange pop floats, gum! The boys loved it!

They had these cool balloon arches up that matched each of Denver's sports teams. Nolan thought they were so cool! It was busy night, the boys all had fun, but Mark and I were sure glad to get home and put the kids to bed at the end of the night. Those type of fests are fun for kids only I think. Ha! Long lines, crowds, sugar! Exhausting.

 On Saturday, Nolan and I had the time wrong for his choir rehearsal, so we killed some time at Nick's Garden Center Halloween festival. It was a gorgeous day that started out with me being annoyed that we were an hour early for choir, but ended with me being SO THANKFUL for some unexpected one on one time with my biggest boy.

Later that night, Cara hosted a Ghoul's Night Out!
It was a super fun excuse to throw on an LBD, eat delicious food, exchange some favorite things, and laugh a lot!

Pumpkin Carving...
 Heath wanted to do the Mr. Potato Head Pirate pumpkin this year!
It turned out super cute!

Nolan was so into carving!

Heath did not love the slime and guts.

Here are our finished products:
Nolan drew the design for the traditional jack-o-lantern. Then he picked out the funny face one from a design we found online. Heath wanted a bat and I chose an owl.

They were so proud!

Oma & Opa spoiled the boys with some fun Halloween goodies...
candy, cars, cookies, and more!

Grandma & Grandpa also sent a package…

and so did Auntie & Flobby, but we didn't get a picture.  Thanks everyone for lovin' on the boys! They sure appreciate it!

I am one of Nolan's Room Moms this year. So I worked together with another Mom to throw their class Halloween party. They can go all out for Halloween at Mammoth Heights which is super fun!
Here is Nolan in his Miles the Broncos mascot costume! He was SO stinkin' proud that he came up with this fun idea!
He even had a tail! {He could really use a new jersey though…good thing Christmas is coming!}

Before school started the 1st Grade teachers did a little dance to get the party started. This video isn't the best, I got it from a friend, but you get the jist...
Nolan's teacher is the FOX! He's awesome! Ha!

Time for the party…

 DONUTS

Halloween Bingo

Boo Mix!

Spider hats! Siblings got to come and join in on the fun! Heath was in heaven!

Look at these cute juice boxes! And thanks Grandma for the Frankenstein…we used him to help decorate the classroom.

Roll a Pumpkin Game

Mr. G's Class

I always love a family theme for Halloween. So naturally, I was a ref.
 I'm always blowing the whistle and throwing flags at my crazy boys! All four of them!
{Yes, I know my stripes are the wrong direction. It was a jailbird costume. The only thing I could find for FREE! Close enough.}

Brooks was a BRONCO FOOTBALL PLAYER!

Pretty adorable! {Although he didn't love wearing the helmet, surprise, surprise!}

After school I had to try to keep the boys entertained until Mark got home and we could take them Trick-or-Treating. They were so anxious and bouncing off the walls. They COULD.NOT.WAIT!

It was finally time...
They took turns ringing doorbells.

And Brooks followed them the whole way. It was so nice not having to carry a child at all this year!

We started out in our neighborhood.

Mark dressed as a Rockies Baseball Player. {The black eye was left over from his Black Eyed Peas costume from work earlier in the day. They had to dress as one of their Fathom Events. He won $50 for  his rendition of his "lovely lady lumps". Oh brother! He said it looked cool with his baseball uniform- like he got hit with a pitch.}

Me and my mascots!

Brooks even got in on the doorbell ringing.

Their favorite house on the block.
Still love their "blow ups".

This picture cracks me up…Heath on the run from house to house!

After awhile I went back to our house to pass out candy and Mark took the boys down the street the other direction. When they came back, they rang our doorbell.
This is what I saw when I opened the door! They thought they were so funny!

Our team picture!

As tradition, we headed over to meet up with the whole family at Oma & Opa's house.
They are always so fun! Harry Potter and an Arapahoe Football Player! Oma fit right in with our family.
Putting a spell on Opa with a glowstick wand.

The cousins, minus Cohen, Arie, and Ezra who were there earlier. We ate yummy chili, snacked on grapes and cheese and bread, and the kids went out for more Trick-or-Treating until they crashed!

We sure love going all out for holidays around here. We love all of the traditions. But I was really ready on November first to pack up all the Halloween stuff, simplify, and focus on our annual Thankfulness project for the month.
