Auntie & Flobby Weekend

My Sister and Bob came out Labor Day weekend for a wedding! It was fun to have them here and be able to see them one more time before their wedding. They flew in late Wednesday night during a bad storm. Their flight was delayed and then very turbulent and then they had to re-route and circle the airport. So when they finally landed we were all relieved and ready to start a fun few days together!

Nolan, Heath, and I all had school on Thursday. But it was so nice that they were home to watch Heath and Brooks in the afternoon for us. No running and racing around to drop kids off. The boys had so much fun with their babysitters!
They got to eat lunch in the basement while watching cartoons!

They took naps and then got to play!

I had Back to School night so I didn't get home that evening until after 8 p.m.
So the whole crew went to McDonalds for some dinner and playtime without me! The boys were pumped about the new NFL guys they got in their Happy Meals.

Friday morning I took Nolan to school and then we ran some errands together to pick up a few things for the wedding and some groceries!
I never use the car carts, so Brooks was in heaven when Flobby got him one!

They also suckered Uncle Flobby into building a few Marble Runs over the weekend. This activity was given to us by Grandma. The boys love it, but it's a pain in the booty to put together and falls apart pretty easily. I make mine very small scale compared to Bob! So the boys were very happy to see his HUGE creations using every piece. Heathy said, "This is good!"

After work and school on Friday I planned a FUN and fabulous outing for us! CASA BONITA!
It's always an adventure at Casa Bonita. We hadn't been there since Nolan was Brooks' age and Heath was a baby, so it was time we visit again now that the boys are old enough to remember and enjoy it all. I knew Mal & Bob would be up for the fun!

Look at Brooks' shirt in this picture! Cracks me up! He's showin' some skin!

Waiting in the cafeteria style line for food!

Picking up our trays and napkins!

We were seated at a great table! Very close to the divers and the shows! The food is not terrible, but not awesome. But we all ate and filled our bellies with chips and salsa too.

The boys loved this fire juggler/diver! He was their favorite part! After he juggled the fire he threw it into the water and dove down after it! The kids were amazed!

Mallory and Bob getting romantical to the mariachi music! See the band in the background? I can't think of any place more romantic for these two love birds! Ha!

The boys watching the show. I wish I would have caught it on video, but at one point, the cave woman actress came out into the crowd during part of the act. Bob was standing up holding Brooks who was a little freaked out by all the craziness. And the cave woman ran over and jumped up on his chair. She leaned over and looked Nolan right in the face and shouted, "OOGA BOOGA!" Nolan just looked right back at her with a huge smile on his face, speechless! It was so funny!

The water fall! Heath was behind it at this point, waving at me, but you can't see him in the photo.

Criss Cross Divers!

Nolan LOVED the sopapillas!

Exploring the caves!

We all bravely made it through the dark and creepy Black Barts Cave too! But it was so dark that my pictures in it didn't turn out.

Mark took the boys down to the bottom of the pool. They were really close to the divers which they thought was super cool! Nolan said he almost got splashed on the nose!

After we ate we went to play some games in the arcade.
Unfortunately, a lot of the games didn't work or didn't give tickets. So it was kind of a bummer. But the people watching was fantastic!

The boys each got a prize with their tickets and Auntie let them play the Chicken egg laying game for another prize too! That was her favorite game as a kid so she was happy to see it here!
There is just no place in the world like Casa Bonita. That's for sure. I'm pretty sure we may never have to return again. It is an experience alright. But we made some funny memories!!!

The next morning it was time for the dates to start!
Heath chose to go get donuts with Auntie and Flobby! Chocolate milk was a bonus!

When they got home they made some sugar cookies! Not cut outs like they usually make with Grandma. This time they rolled them into balls and then rolled them around in different color sprinkles. It was fun for them to try something new.

The rest of Saturday we just played around the house. Then we took the boys to the pool while Mal & Bob got ready to go to their wedding. That night Mark took me out to P.F. Changs for an early birthday dinner and Oma & Opa watched the boys. It was a fun night out for both of us couples! But we were excited to see them again at the end of the night! We just SO wished they lived here so that we could hang out all the time! We SO enjoy their company!

Sunday Morning was Nolan's date...
He chose bagels and smoothies at Panera! They did a lot of talking about the wedding on their date. The boys are beyond excited!

A little more Marble Run fun!

And some football!

And a little Ear Candling. Isn't that what everybody does during family time?! Bob was a good sport! As always! He said his ear really felt good afterwards. And it better considering the amount of wax we found in the candle afterwards! Ha!

Brooksie's date was last...
A Target run and Icee!

When they got back we had a grilled cheese lunch together and then it was time to head to the airport.
The boys are always so sad to see them go! And so are Mark and I! We'll just keep praying that someday they'll move out here! But it was so exciting to think that the next time we would see them it would be for their wedding in just over a month!

We can not wait! Thanks for an amazing weekend, as always, Mal & Bob! We love you!!!!
