Magic Kingdom Day 2

We knew that Magic Kingdom had too much fun to squeeze into just one day, so we decided to spend 2 days at MK to be sure that we got to see and do everything we wanted there. The second day we decided not to get there at Rope Drop. We wanted to sleep in a little and have a bigger breakfast at our resort.
The JOHNSON crew on our way to breakfast.
Nolan chowing down on his Mickey Shaped waffles!

Grandpa entertaining the troops!
After breakfast we hopped on the bus and headed to the park.
We got there about an hour after it opened and it was PACKED! It was a Saturday, so we think that Florida residents probably come on the weekends, making it more busy. It was significantly busier than the first day we went. So we were grateful for our first, much more relaxing day at the Magic Kingdom.
This was the day we would go all out DISNEY! Matching Family t-shirts!!! We thought it would be funny to do this, I've seen it on a lot of blogs. But when you are there, you are almost on the outs if you DON'T have matching family t-shirts. People really go all out. Grown, handsome men wearing Goofy hats all day long. Newlyweds wearing his and hers matching Mickey Ears with a top hat and veil. Customized t-shirts galore! It was fun to join in on the crazy and be DISNEYFIED for the day!

Just as we walked in to the park we spotted Snow White and caught a fun parade!

We saw Woody!
We also saw Chip & Dale and Stitch...
and Genie!
And Baloo!

We followed the parade down Main Street.

And to Cinderella's Castle.
Loved watching them watch the parade together.
Donald on top of the float.

The parade had super fun music playing and a great dance party too!

We danced with Jessie.

And got to meet Genie!
He was a favorite character that we met that week!

We snapped some family pictures that morning.
These crack me up! It was so bright and there was so much going on, so the boys were a bit distracted. Not our most photogenic moment! But good enough for a Johnson Christmas card!

Showing off our Magic Bands!
Jansen power!

We started our day off with just about every show the park offers.
1. The Country Bear Jamboree (This show is dated but hilarious!)
2. The Enchanted Tiki Room (Another classic, my bird loving boy thought it was great!)
3. The Hall of Presidents
Mark and Nolan and Heath were not too interested in The Hall of Presidents, so they took off to ride Aladdin again. The rest of us went in for the show. And Brooks cracked me up through the whole thing. Here are just a few of his one liners from the show:
"Are those bad guys?" referring to the presidents because they looked very serious
"Is that a space ship?" referring to the glowing Capital Building
"GARFIELD!" meaning the cat, not the president
It was an experience. Ha!

Later that day we rode It's a Small World again because Nolan wanted to ride it with Uncle T.
Mark counted that they sing the song 28 times throughout the ride.
Brooks was exhausted and fell asleep. He fell asleep on every dark boat ride we went on that week!

It's a world of laughter, a world of tears,
It's a world of hopes and a world of fears,
There's so much that we share, that it's time we're aware
It's a small world after all.

These 4 went up into the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House with Grandma.

And then we rode Prince Charming's Carousel.
Uncle T was the only one who wanted to ride it with our family!
Crazy boys on their horses!
CHEESE!

Disney does everything right! The parks are immaculate, the Cast Members are friendly and helpful, and even the paths are cleaned routinely throughout the day. Some of the Cast Members even draw fun designs with their water buckets as they clean!

On our way over to Splash Mountain, our first Fast Pass of the day, we came across another parade!
I spotted Croc, so I had to snap a pic to show Brooks.

We also saw some of the 7 Dwarfs and Jiminey Cricket too! He has always been my Mom's favorite character!

I wish I had a photo of us on Splash Mountain! It was so fun! We all wore ponchos and stayed quite dry! We looked hilarious, but were happy not to be soaking wet for the rest of the day. The boys thought it was scary good fun! They were so brave this whole trip!

Uncle T and Auntie Laura let the boys each choose a souvenir as their birthday presents for the year! They were THRILLED! Thanks guys!

We also rode the Astro Orbiter in Tomorrowland! This was such a fun surprise. None of us had ever gone on it before. It's a spinning ride that is up on top of a building. So you are super high and have great views of the whole park!

Flying High!

Our next Fast Pass, was for the Peter Pan ride. This was a short and sweet ride. But the line is ALWAYS long, so we were happy to have a Fast Pass so that we could experience it. You feel like 'YOU CAN FLY, YOU CAN FLY, YOU CAN FLY!"

My parents and siblings also did other rides at different points during our 2 days at The Magic Kingdom,  like the Riverboat to Tom Sawyers Island,  and the People Mover, and the Carousel of Progress. Everyone got to do just what they wanted.

Waiting for our last Fast Pass of the day to begin. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train! You have about an hour window to arrive for your Fast Pass. And then you get to move through the lanes quickly to get on. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is the newest ride at The Magic Kingdom! It is a VERY popular ride and the line is long from the second the park opens- people rush to it.
We were SO excited for this roller coaster! And it lived up to all the hype! It was my favorite of the entire trip! It was a fun thrill ride that went outside the mountain and down into the mine with the dwarves. The animation in the mine was amazing and bright, the music was fun, and the details were amazing, all while being exciting and fast!

After this ride, my brother and Laura, Mal & Bob, and my Dad all went back to the resort to watch the OU football game.

Our family and my Mom wanted to stay for the night time parade.
So what did we do...
Fast Pass Aladdin a couple more times of course!

Then we watched Elsa freeze the castle!
This was pretty spectacular!
It was so gorgeous!
And they had a mini fireworks show along with it! We were so happy we stayed and saw this! It's one of those moments that we will always remember.

We had dinner in crowded Tomorrowland's Starlight Cafe and then we headed to find a spot for the parade. We talked to a very nice Cast Member who told us that the parade starts in the front entry way and that this is a great spot to catch it, and it's easy access to leave afterwards too.

So we got there 30 minutes early and got a great spot. Mark and my Mom stood back with a sleeping Heath in the stroller. As the time got closer for the parade to start, they became packed in and had to deal with some rude and rushing guests who were trampling the beautiful flowers and were not so magical after a long day at the park. But this was really our only bad experience of the trip.
He was really looking forward to the parade, but the poor thing just couldn't make it!
Tinker Bell
The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland
Mice from Cinderella
Cinderella and her Fairy Godmother in the pumpkin carriage
Captain Hook on his ship
Dopey in the mine cart
Pinocchio
Pete's Dragon

And during all of that fun, another one bites the dust! Ha! It was about 9:30 p.m. at this point and after a busy day, Nolan was the only one who made it through the whole parade! He feels very cool that he was able to stay up and out so late!

And, of course, our leaving the park pic! So happy to have had that amazing day together!
