the choo choo

When we got back to Illinois from our short trip to Michigan, my Mom took a day off from school to hang out with us. We took the boys to eat lunch at a childhood favorite restaurant- the choo choo!

Tyler and I took Nolan here when he was two. So it was fun to visit again now that he is older and to take Heath to eat here too!

We waited a few minutes for seats at the counter...the best seats in the little place. (Nolan is playing with his two little ducks that he got from the 25 cent gum ball machine while we were waiting for seats. We named them Gavin and Derek- each time we found out we were having a baby boy, my Dad always insisted that we would not name them Gavin or Derek! For whatever reason, he just did not like those names! We always thought it was so funny that he was so opinionated about boy names. So we always tease him about it! Not good names for our boys apparently, but great for tiny plastic ducks!)

Waiting for the train to bring our food...

We let the boys have orange pop. They never have pop. You should have seen how fast they sucked it down! Ha!

 It's here! Yum!

 Hot Dogs, fries...

 and a grilled cheese! Mmmmm!

My Mom, Brooks, Mallory, and Erik sat in a booth just behind us! I thought this picture was hilarious because as I was trying to take the photo, Nolan photo bombed!

 Here's a better one!

It was a fun lunch and once again, so special to share my childhood memories with the boys!
