We had a bunch of Mother's Day activities this year!
After Easter it was time to switch out my chalk board design. I came home from school one day to find this...
Mark had surprised me and erased the old design and decorated it himself! I was so impressed! He's a good one, that's for sure! He did such a good job!
The boys prepared thoughtful gifts for their Grandma's...
Heath's answers about Grandma.
Nolan's writing about Grandma.
They also wrote them for Oma…but I didn't get a picture…bummer! But their answers were all funny and sweet. They also decorated plates for them. This was a fundraiser for Heath's school. And we thought it would be a nice keepsake for their Grandma's.
My Mom snapped a picture of hers, I'm glad she did because I forgot to take pictures of them. Nolan did the writing and drew the flowers. Heath signed his name and drew the sun. And Brooks made the red scribble in the corner.
With three different schools wrapping up their years we have been busy with school events.
First up was Heath's Mom's & Muffins...
He made me this cute card. Too bad he wrote his name backwards and forgot the T! That's what happens when you give a kid a marker and freedom!
He was kind of shy this day, but was so sweet to me the whole time.
Enjoying our muffins and fruit.
Ready to sing some songs to the Moms. I can't get enough of his smile in this pic!
He wasn't quite as exuberant as he was at his last performance, but he sang and smiled and did actions and couldn't have been cuter!
On this song you'll notice he wanted nothing to do with the verse about kissing! This boy! He WILL NOT give or receive kisses. Too mushy gushy for him. He only does hugs. Or "nuzzies".
They gave us Moms a Memory Book of adorable art projects that they made throughout the year- one each month. LOVED IT!
Next up was Mammoth Heights' all school Moms & Muffins...
We came early before school for some yumminess and crafts.
He was a total gentleman!
We colored a picture and put together these cute flowers. He made one for Oma too.
And then he was off to class for the day.
And I came home for a morning of rare snuggles with this one...
Here are some of the other cards/crafts Nolan made for me at Kindergarten, KED, and After Care...
I love this one the most! He told me that he chose Broncos colors. Just what I love…right?! Ha!
One night when I was out at Women's Group, Mark got on my computer and printed out my Mother's Day questionnaires for the boys to fill out about ME! Another thoughtful little thing he did for me!
Here is Nolan's…I do love me some burgers!
And this one was Heath's…love that he thinks I'm 21 instead of 50!
On Mother's Day our weather was not the best- a "wintery mix". So we slept in and cuddled up and watched t.v. And it was just what I needed!
Each of the boys came running in to wish me a Happy Mother's Day. They each brought me a small gift. It was perfect. Then they made me a delicious breakfast in bed!
The boys and I snuggling up. I loved how Nolan was holding my hand and twisting my ring. I had to snap a pic of the sweet moment.
We just hung around the house for most of the day.
Heath came up with this funny lunch creation!
Then we Skyped my Mom to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and to watch her open her gifts.
My one Mother's Day request was simple. I reeeaaallly wanted 5 Guys for dinner. I'm SO fancy, I know! You can take a girl out of Chicago, but you can't take the Chicago out of a girl!
And 5 Guys is the perfect dinner location for a bunch of growing boys! We treated them to some pop too! They LOVE that cool electronic pop dispenser there! Nolan practically ate his whole burger and Heath and Brooks shared theirs.
My family laughs at me because I always get the double patty! Of course I do! I can put it down! Yum! It's not quite Portillos, but it's still SO good!
Mark got just about everything he could on his!
And this little booger made a big ol' mess but loved his fries and burger too!
And finally, I wrapped up my Mother's Day festivities with Moms & Muffins in my classroom the next day. I had never done this event before, but it was a HIT and will be a yearly tradition for me now.
I stole the idea from Nolan's teacher and we had a fun hour of pampering!
I hope that it was a special memory these Moms & Kindies will treasure for a long time!
And that's that. I love holidays! I love doing simple things to make them special. And my boys certainly did that for me this year!
